CHICAGO DUO PIANO FESTIVALAbout the festival Founded in 1988 by Music Institute of Chicago‘s resident piano duo Claire Aebersold and Ralph Neiweem, the mission of the Festival is to foster a deeper interest in the repertoire, performance and teaching of music for piano, four hands and two pianos in fun and supprtive atmosphere. Student participants will have daily coachings on selected repertoire for both two pianos and piano, four hands. Coachings will be in private and gpoup settings. all student participants will have the opportunity to perform in the final recitals, and certain students may be selected to perform in the guest master class. General information,repertoire requirements, and regulations Junior division: through age 14 Senior division: through age 18 As usual, all pieces must be original works for four hands or two pianos, or concert transcriptions by the original composer, or a significant arranger.( No teaching arrangements will be allowed. The selected pieces must represent contrasting styles and periods.) |
